This process has been made so easy, that stamps can even be purchased through your mail carrier. The books each contain twenty self-adhesive stamps, and can either be bought by the book or in packs of five. Coils, or rolls, of self-adhesive stamps can be purchased with one hundred on each coil. Coils of water-activated five cent stamps can be purchased in coils of 10,000. Quantities of stamps from ten to one hundred, and with different postage rates, can be purchased in panes. Included in those, there is also a set of Express Mail Special stamps.

Along with offering US postage stamps in different rates, the United States Postal Service also offers them in a variety of different themes. Famous Americans and African Americans are memorialized along with famous places and events. In addition, things found in nature, arts and crafts, sports, and holidays are depicted on stamps. There is even a set of stamps that includes sporty cars.
